Does PAP Tampines GRC Candidate Charlene Chen Look Like A Cross Between Vivian Hsu And Vivian Chow?
One netizen sure thinks so. Another also asked her to drop her skincare routine.
On April 16, ruling party PAP announced their five-member constituency line-up contesting for Tampines GRC.
Two new candidates have joined incumbent members Social and Family Development Minister Masagos Zulkifli, Senior Minister of State for Manpower and Sustainability and the Environment Dr Koh Poh Koon, and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Sustainability and the Environment Baey Yam Keng.
Running alongside them are ex-chief of army David Neo and Dr Charlene Chen, an assistant professor of marketing and sustainability at NTU.
Of the two new reps, Dr Chen, 43, has been receiving plenty of attention online for her looks.
During her introduction, Dr Chen, who is a mother of two, calls herself an individual with a “baby face”.
Dr Chen, who also worked as a psychologist in the police force, went on to label her youthful appearance as “a bit of a superpower”.
Naturally, people have taken online to respond to Dr Chen’s self-introduction, with many reacting to her “baby face”.
“Pleasantly surprised that she’s upfront about her age,” remarked one netizen, while another asked for her skincare routine.
Another comment read: “She looks like a cross between Vivian Hsu and Vivian Chow. Can really fight with the best of the best - Sun Xueling.”
And by best here, we assume the commenter is referring to Dr Chen and MP Sun’s good looks.
Another also wrote: “She and Sun Xueling are the PAP’s best lookers. Let’s be frank - that’s a clear political advantage!”
They were, however, quickly informed by other netizens that Dr Chen is not “running for a beauty contest”.
There were also those who wondered about the relevance between Dr Chen’s “baby face” and her run in the elections.
“You advertising for skincare?” asked one netizen.
Well, no one says she can't serve both the community and looks.
